The Third Reich is a collection of books released by Time-Life Books that details the rise and fall of Nazi Germany, presenting historical events from the German perspective. The series launched in the United States in 1988, followed by a European release the next year, primarily available through subscriptions from the Amsterdam subsidiary "Time-Life Books B.V." and other UK outlets.
Each volume covers a distinct topic, including the SS, the Afrika Korps, and various military campaigns. Each book in the series spans 192 pages, is richly illustrated, and contains pictorial essays on specific subjects. They are bound in faux black leatherette with silver and red lettering, showcasing a large glued-on image on the cover, and were produced without a dust jacket. Additionally, each volume includes a bookmark/map key insert that clarifies the military symbols used in the maps throughout the series.
