The book details the interesting travelogue by Edmund Candler, from his expedition through Tibet. The book contains fifty-two illustrations and a large folding map, illustrating the expedition route, to the rear of the book. 

 

The fascinating travelogue of an English journalist who accompanied the expeditionary force led by Sir Francis Younghusband into Tibet in 1903-4. Giving an overview of the scenery, culture and political unrest in the region, including the authors first-hand account of the storm of the Gyantse Dzong. Edmund Candler was an English journalist who worked as a correspondent for the Daily Mail. His work predominantly recounts his experiences in colonial India and Asia, and is often compared to the writings of Rudyard Kipling, who was a major influence upon the author.
