The Battle of Kursk (1993) By Robin Cross

This book is about the greatest, but possilbly most obscure battle in history that was Hitler's "Operation Citadel", the massive German pincer movement aimed at Kursk, Russia. This offensive comprised of 5,000 tanks, thousands of aircraft, and 3 to 4 million men from both sides, the battle for Kursk, Russia on the Eastern front between Germany and the Red army. The battle began July 5, 1943 and lasted 11 long and bloody days. Full of many fascinating details about the overview and strategic situation, the German and Russian situations, the planning, the weapons, the tanks, the commanders, the armies, the soldiers, and what Hitler and Stalin thought about the battle themselves. Fast-paced writing at its finest, and a lot of interesting facts in this relatively short account.
