Soldier Boy: The Letters and Memoirs Of Gunner W.J. Duffell 1915-1918 (1992) By Gilbert Mant

 

In March 1990, 153 of Gunner W.J. Duffell's letters were found in the garage of a home in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia. They had been written to his family by William John Duffell during his service in World War I with 2nd and 22nd Batteries, 1st Australian Field Artillery Brigade, AIF. He served in Egypt, France and Belgium until his return to Australia in 1918, medically unfit. 

 

Hardback edition of a book first published in March 1992 consisting of exact reproductions of letters written to family and friends. Includes brief bibliography and index. Edited and introduced by the author of 'The Singapore Surrender'.
