Qantas At War (1968) By Sir Hudson Fysh

Sir Wilmot Hudson Fysh, KBE, DFC was an Australian aviator and businessman. A founder of the Australian airline company Qantas, Fysh was born in Launceston, Tasmania

Sir Hudson Fysh's 'Qantas at War' is the story of this great Australian airline - and its pilots, its partners, and its rivals - during the dramatic and colourful years from 1934 to 1945: a period considerably enlivened by World War II.

'Qantas at War' is of course really Book II of 'Qantas Rising', which was published in 1965. It continues the story of the rise of Qantas and maintains the autobiographical thread which runs through the first book. 'Qantas at War' describes the start of the first air transport service to operate in and out of Australia, surely an advance that profoundly affected the people and destiny of this continent.
