Inez: A Tale Of The Alamo (c. 1855) By Augusta Evans Wilson

A prominent, bestselling Southern novelist both before and after the Civil War, Wilson wrote "Inez" in 1850, when she was fifteen and living with her parents in San Antonio shortly after the Mexican-American War. It was first published in 1855 and many times since by many different publishers. "Inez" is a sentimental, moralistic love story of an orphan girl's religious journey from skepticism to devout faith.
