I'll Remember April (1998) DVD

Wonderful, funny, poignant film about four boys during World War II who find a Japanese sailor washed up on the California coast near Santa Barbara and take him prisoner in their clubhouse, intending to turn him over to the authorities; only he saves the life of one of them, and they no longer regard him as an enemy.
