Having Been a Soldier (1969) Signed By Colin Mitchell

Autobiography of Lieutenant-Colonel Colin "Mad-Mitch" Mitchell. In Aden in June 1967, Lt-Col Colin Mitchell led the Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, with bagpipes playing, into the Crater area at dead of night to flush out armed Arab insurgents at bayonet point. The triumph of the Argylls in Crater brought more in its wake than the expected fury of Arab terroists and political brigands. Within a few months Whitehall had decreed the end of the Regiment, and Mitchell had retired from the Army.
