Forward: The History of the 2nd/14th Light Horse (1989) By J. Starr & C. Sweeney

 

Raised as the Queensland Mounted Rifles in February 1860 for the defence of the Queensland colony. It was the first contingent to leave Australia for the Boer War and two of its members where Australia's first to be killed in action overseas. The Regiment distinguished itself in World War I as infantry at Gallipoli, cameliers in Sinai and cavalry in Palestine. A good third of the narrative deals with the Regiment's WWI experiences. Appendices include Honour Rolls of the Queensland Mounted Infantry, the 2nd Light Horse Regiment and the 14th Light Horse Regiment. Also include battle honours and awards for gallantry.
