DC-3 Down Under (1989) By Stewart Wilson

Like so many other countries around the world, Australia owes a large debt to what is simply the most important transport aircraft in the history of aviation, the Douglas DC-3.

As the DC-3 celebrated its thirtieth anniversary in the 1960s it was also being replaced in these roles by the turboprop airliners designed to fulfil these shorter intrastate routes but carried on in some areas where that truism that states "the only replacement for a DC-3 is another DC-3" was entirely accurate.
