The book depicts forty years in the life of the radical Australian journalist, Nazi Germany, the Allied invasion, the trial of Cardinal Mindszenty, Henry Kissinger's go-between with the Vietcong, smuggled Jews out of Germany, Burma Road, Chou-en-lai.
