Established in 1890 by C. Arthur Pearson, the company published several magazines, including Pearson's Weekly (1890-1939), The Royal Magazine (1898–1939), Home Notes (1894–1958), and London Opinion (1903–1954). became an imprint of Newnes in 1914 and was fully acquired by it in 1929. In 1959, both Pearson and Newnes were acquired by Odhams Press, which was followed by IPC's acquisition in 1961. Publishing portfolio included notable War Comic Titles such as World War Picture Library, Picture Stories of World War II, and Pearson's Libraries.
